Passamaquoddy trekking canoe

4370,00

With a length of five meter fifty and 350 kg of loading capacity, the Passamaquoddy is a trekking canoe par excellence. He is a pleasure to paddle and is built for big water. He cuts through the water and is an excellent tracker. The rounded hull and tumblehome sides give him a great secondary stability.

Due to these characteristics, this trekking canoe is very suitable for experienced paddlers. A true ocean canoe that, thanks to the moderate rocker, is surprisingly maneuvrable. The Passamaquoddy is a very fast canoe that does not lose its pace even with a large load. A canoe that is ideal for long self-supporting tours but also suitable to relax for an hour on a lake, solo.

Description

Ajous and glass fabric-epoxy

Our Passamaquoddy canoe is built with ayous and details in western red cedar and laminated with glass fabric and epoxy. The laminate ensures that the wood is sandwiched and never comes into contact with water. In addition, it provides extreme stiffness which makes the canoe very efficient to be paddled. The boat is finished with high or satin gloss marine varnish with an excellent UV-blocker.

Solid ash for the outfitting

The gunwales, seats, decks and the yoke are made of ash. Ash is hard, very flexible and relatively light. Because the ash parts of the canoe suffer the most they are coated with double boiled linseed oil to keep them flexible and in good shape. The outwales are screwed on to make replacement easy. All screws and bolts are stainless steel.
