Discover the Kempen in a Unique Way

Are you ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure in the heart of the beautiful Kempen? Lace up your hiking boots, take a seat in a canoe, and prepare for a weekend where nature, adventure, and authentic regional flavours come together.

Be surprised by a carefully curated programme featuring, among other things, a canoe trip along the picturesque Kleine Nete, a hands-on campfire cooking experience including a tasting of local wine and gin, and a guided autumn walk with an experienced nature guide.

The Kempen are known as a quiet, authentic region with deep-rooted agricultural traditions. For centuries, life on the sandy soils of this area has followed the rhythm of the seasons. The result is a landscape rich in unspoilt nature, forests, heathlands, and winding rivers.

One of these rivers, the Kleine Nete, is without a doubt one of the most beautiful canoe rivers in Belgium. It meanders through silent valleys and along hidden riverbanks. In autumn, the scenery gains an extra layer of magic, as warm colours transform the landscape into a living painting.

Canoe trip on the Kleine Nete

Discover the very best of the Kempen from the water in a beautiful wooden canoe. During this relaxing paddle, you’ll move with the rhythm of the river, sample local delicacies along the way, and enjoy a convivial break at a local café.

Tasting and campfire cooking

For dinner, we dive together into the world of Kempen flavours. During an interactive cooking experience, you’ll work with honest regional products such as lamb, seasonal vegetables, and Trappist cheese.

Alongside this, we host an exclusive tasting of Kempen wine and gin from Domein Walterus in Poederlee, a unique opportunity to discover these local specialities. Together, we prepare a delicious dinner under the stars, guided by fire, aroma, and flavour.

Overnight stay in atmospheric tipi tents

After dinner, you settle into a comfortable tipi tent, right in the middle of nature. Around the campfire, stories are shared and laughter flows, with a glass of Kempen beer or a steaming cup of coffee in hand. The next morning, you wake to birdsong, fresh air, and a hearty breakfast prepared with the finest regional products.

Guided nature walk in spring splendour

On Sunday, we lace up our hiking boots for a guided walk with an experienced nature guide. You’ll learn more about the fauna, flora, and unique landscape of the Kempen, while being immersed in the fresh spring colour palette of the season.
